Best Place and Time to Sell Textbooks

So I don't want to sell my textbooks back to the college bookstore because they give you like $15 for a book that you paid $200 for.

So where is the best place to sell textbooks? Ebay, half.com, amazon.com, etc.? (I'm not familiar with internet shopping or auction sites at all.) Also, when would be the best time to sell the books? Most kids probably have another 2 weeks to go before classes start, and a lot of kids don't even buy textbooks until after the first week or so after classes... so should I list them now or wait?

Your best bet would be to try and find some way to list them on a message board run by your school. I was always willing to pay an extra $5-$10 to be sure I got the right edition, it was in good condition, and I didn't have to worry about shipping. The person selling it liked it because they didn't have to ship it, got cash, and usually sold it for more than they would any other way.

Just read this article today about where to buy textbooks and a lot of the sites listed also buy books:

You can also try to use your dorm or student group listserv to advertise textbooks you are selling.
