I wanted to get ahead and learn some calculus this summer before school started. Which book would best teach me calculus as if it were teaching something new? I heard barrons was terrible with it according to some reviews on amazon.

I would use Princeton Review. It’s amazingly in-depth. Just skip the sections labelled BC.

From what I gathered on CC before buying a prep book for Calc, most people agree on Princeton Review. Calculus is not that bad though. I was considering on learning it before class started too, but got too lazy, and the class I took was more than enough. I suppose it depends on the rigor of your school’s Calc program though.

My ap calc teacher had us buy Barron’s. I thought it was a good book.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. PR it is!

I took Calc AB this year and am expecting a 5 and I used Barron’s.

Just do all the practice problems and take both tests and that’s all you’ll need to get a 5.

However, my friend used Princeton Review and he said it was good too.

Just use your textbook, and take the released exams that are all readily available on the Internet.

Barron’s. The questions are more difficult there than on the real AP test, so the AP test isn’t bad then.
