Ds is currently enrolled in AP Chemistry. He is going to take the subject exam in chemistry on the May 4th date. I don't have a sense of how well his AP class will prepare him for the subject exam, as I don't know how much overlap there is. I want to buy him a prep book specifically geared for the subject test. Which one is best?

AP chemistry prepares them fairly well. I got a 780 on my first attempt last year with AP chem, but I was also studying more in-depth than others in my class.

Let him take a stab at a few practice questions. But if you were to get a practice book, I couldn’t tell you from first hand experience, but I do remember that some of my fellow classmates last year used the Princeton review and got fairly high scores.

Thanks. I am hoping the AP prep is sufficient, but I don’t have any way to know. Perhaps I will ask his teacher for a suggestion at parent-teacher conferences.
