Best prep book for electrical engineering aspiring??

Hey guys,

I am entering engineering school by next fall at Rose-Hulman. I would like to know what is or are the best books I can get to study for the summer in Electrical Engineering. I would rather get one in calculus or everything mathematics. Thanks..

this was our book we used for our first electrical engineering class

[Amazon.com: Electrical Engineering: An Introduction (Oxford Series in Electrical and Computer Engineering): Steven E. Schwarz, William G. Oldham: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Electrical-Engineering-Introduction-Oxford-Computer/dp/0195105850/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240219818&sr=8-1)

but keep in mind this was definitely a weeder class

thanks. any other suggestions?

Fundamentals of Electric Circuits by Alexander and Sadiku
Microelectronic Circuits by Sedra and Smith
A Student’s Guide to Maxwell’s Equations by Fleisch

These are good textbooks to read to get started in EE. The first one is an intro to circuits (KVL, KCL, resistors, capacitors, inductors, op-amps) and the second one is the natural progression to more advanced topics (device physics, bipolar transistors, MOSFET’s, etc).

The last text is an excellent primer to Electricity and Magnetism. It’s mostly qualitative, but I have yet to find a better text at explaining the quantities used in Maxwell’s equations. Highly recommended to anyone, actually.

thanks a lot for the suggestion.
