Hey, for those of u who have taken or are studying for this test, what are ur recomendations for the best prep and most accurate practice tests for the math IIc. Also, does anyone have any insight on the calculator-use section in the barron's book, it sounds like it would help a lot...also, are there any other books that teach u tricks on the TI-83 calc for the test (I know Meyleni has one but I cant find it anywhere)...
thanks

barrons has some calc programs that you can install =] only one i actually used was the quadratic forumla though...

Barrons definitely helps. If you suck on the Barron tests, you do fine on the real tests. If you do good on the Barron tests, then no worries, you'll probably hit 800! =]

I was really comfortable using my TI-83, so I didn't install any programs.

thanks for the quick replies guys...im leaning towards barrons but i only have a month and i dont want to waste time on excess info (i heard barron's overprepares). i would go with pr but they only have a combined Ic and IIc book. any experience with the new kaplan book?

How does MathIIC compare to the AP AB calc?

eaaasssy if you're in ap calc!

very different. odesnt compare. Math IIC is better for riht after your complete Precalc

Does anyone know if ARCO's Math II book is any good?

I have a lot of time to prepare (I'm taking Math IIC SAT in October or November), should I go with Barron's to be safe? I want an 800, and math is usually not too bad for me.

If u only have a short time to prepare, buy the real sat 2's book, these are obviously the most realistic tests. Then look up the topics u struggled with in a textbook or online (i use wikipedia to teach me all my math stuff).

IMO arco is too unrealistic (practice tests, that is)

DiabloII Unrealistic how? Like the pratices are too easy or too hard compared to the real thing?

abena301

Barron's is quick

sorry i should have stated more specifically

i have a slightly older arco SATIIc review book and the questions were way too complicated and unrealistic to be on the test...a lot of the stuff i have never even seen before

but again, the newer arco may not be like this

anyways, i'd suggest the kaplan book over the other review books

Thanks. I checked out the 8th ed. (1998) ARCO book from the library and that is what I thought also. I am getting the PR one now.

Forgetting about Barron's?! =-o

Which edition of Barron's should I get?

just a word of advice to anyone reading this...dont use Kaplan! I have found kaplan helpful for everything except this, I got 4 wrong during two practice tests in the car, and finished very early (this would be an 800). after i took the test i left one blank and was not confident on like 10 of them...

the newest edition (7th is the one i have)

Can't go wrong with Barron's.
