Could someone recommend good prep books for World History? I have PR AP World History already. Thanks.

Frankly, being prepared for the AP exam prepared me for the SAT II. Frankly, after tkaing AP the same year, I didn’t study for the SAT II and still got a 780. (and that’s without omitting any hard questions, even though I knew I should have)

I used PR World History (I don’t know why people like this book. The writing style is so casual and I feel belittled by the book’s references or mnemonics) for the SAT II subject test and scored 780 this month. However, I contributed that score mostly to taking APWH and reading the textbook a bunch of times when I took the class.

I agree with the posters above. I got a 790, which was extremely surprising since I was fully expecting an 800, although I suppose I should have omitted two or three questions. Ah well it would be silly to retake.
Anyway… I used PR AP World History. I tried Barron’s and got through a third of it, then dropped it because (a) WAAAAAY too many details taking up valuable brain space and (b) it’s incredibly dry and boring (i.e. not memorable).

I self-studied in a week though. Just read PR front to back three times and consulting a note packet downloaded from the internet.

I do agree with jerry4445 above that PR’s style is rather belittling and seems to treat readers like they have no analytical prowess at all and can’t remember the last page for our lives, but at least in some places it attempts to be funny. In my opinion, it’s better than Barron’s.

The biggest help of all in the exam was being top at AP Euro. It’s incredibly useful for both APWH and SAT II WH.
