what about the best prep books for us history and physics?

Math - Use Princeton Review (or Kaplan if you want) and then practice like mad. Do NOT use Barron's.

Chem - Princeton Review for the essentials, Barron's for complete coverage.

Biology - I liked Kaplan a lot. Never used PR. Barron's is terrible.

Honestly the best way to study is to get one or two books that have been suggested often on CC but still use every book available to you, including your textbook/notes, your library, and bookstores. From reading several different books you will grow to understand what material is common to all books and thus you need to know for the test, and you'll also be able to compare the writing styles of different books to see what works for you. I would never recommend using just one book. Except for math because once you learn the rules it's just about practice to gain speed and accuracy.
