hey y'all! i'm looking for a really good ACT guide to increase my score from a 29 to a 30 or 31. my lowest scores were in math and science. those really hurt my english scores. do you guys have any suggestions?

Practice tests. Best way to improve those sections. Science is one of the easier sections to improve on just by understanding the format, and you’ll find the holes in your math knowledge when you’re going through the practice tests. Put in the time and an improvement of several points is very possible.

Try the Princeton Review. Math and science are also my weaknesses, but it held some good strategies to help me out. I looked it over for about a month, and scored a 30 the first time I took the test. Good luck!

thanks for the suggestions! i’ll try to get a guide that combines good tips with practice tests.

Don’t bother reading prep guides, just buy the actual ACT thing from the people who make the ACT because it follows the same standards as the actual test. Just take bunches and bunches of practice tests and go over them.

I would suggest taking the practice tests that are available to sparknotes members online.

For science, don’t read the information they give you. Just read the questions and find the answers. After doing that, my science score went up 3 points b(>w<)d

For math, you should definitely get some practice tests and just do more math problems. You could also try making a list of theorems and formulas that you come across and make sure you know all of them.
