Best Private Housing Option - Help!

Okay, I have posted before in this forum about housing. In the end, I had decided on ISR, but when I told my dad (the person who is going to pay for everything) about all the dorms and how all university residence halls have community bathrooms, he said there is no way I’m going there.

I told him I won’t be naked in front of others or anything, but he just said no. So, I can only apply to Private Housing. Here are the options for me:

Hendrick House

Bromley

Armory (sp?)

My dad liked the Hendrick house because it’s close to the Engineering Quad and had a bathroom for two rooms to share. Plus, we took that online room tour, and he liked it. Also, it’s only like $200 more if you live on the East side. So, he wants me to apply only there.

My friend just visited Hendrick House and didn’t like it. It was too geeky for my friend. Now, my friend is not preppy or anything, but now, I’m afraid. My suitemates might be my friends in the future.

I want to make sure I like where I live. I’m not preppy either, but I’m not a complete nerd. I like to have fun as well, and I don’t mean partying all the time. I don’t want to party all the time or drink or anything. I would want to talk about cute guys or new movies or events around campus. I don’t want to live in a place where the people can’t talk about anything but video games and books and other nerdy subjects.

I like Bromley, but it’s like $1,000 more. Plus, isn’t it far away from the Engineering Quad? I don’t know. It’s close to Frat parties, or that’s what I’ve heard. I’m afraid of Frat. parties. When I think of Frat. parties, I think drunk people who can’t think straight and create a mess outside and inside the dorms.

Armory…I have no idea about this place other than the fact that it’s an extra block away from Bromley, which is far from the Quad.

So, what do you think? I’m not preppy, but I’m not extremely nerdy like my friend portrayed Hendrick House to be. I would want to talk about boys, movies, music, and etc., but I would also like to get down to business when it’s necessary or when I feel like it.

I would love it if you can comment or pick a housing option and say why you chose that house. Thank you. :)

double check, you're a girl right?

Yes, I'm a girl.

Regardless of the cost, what would you recommend?

well if your dad seems to be forcing u to pick a diff. dorm i would go with bromley even though it costs more. live in a triple if you want your dad to feel a bit happier of the cost.

Why Bromley? I'm not try to disagree with you or anything. Honestly, I'm leaning towards Bromley, but my friend, who will be my roommate, asked me what's so special about Bromley for it to cost like a $10,000. And I had no answer for her. I just told her that everyone says you'll have a good social life there. My answer sounded completely lame.

So, what is so special about Bromley? Thanks for your help. :)

well its actually not that much diff. priced than the dorms. dorm prices are climbing even higher. if u lived in a triple at bromley, thats the same price as a double in a dorm +a couple hundred only. its just nicer to live there thats all.
