Going to Preview tomorrow. Hoping to get recommendations of the best professors for Chem 2045 and 2045L, Calculus II, and English 2210. Any advice is truly appreciated! Thanks.

Chem 1: Your options are Harrison, Keaffaber, Mitchell, and Gower. I dont have an current info on them

Chem lab: grad student

Calc 2: you can check the professors here, but they haven’t assigned them yet. http://www.math.ufl.edu/~fgarvan/cgi-bin/schedule_csh.cgi?sem=f&yr=2009&submit=GET+LIST

TechW: cant pick. different grad students for different classes

Thanks, ASMAJ. I was looking at the Chem professors. Seems like Keaffaber teaches Chem 2045 for Engineering majors. Of the others, the student evals seem slightly better for Mitchell than Gower, and Harrison is definitely below them.

For the Chem 2045 lab it says Horvath. However, he must be the one in charge, and the class is really taught by grad students?

Any suggestions for Calculus II in case tomorrow they know who might be teaching it? Nice to have some recognizable names to go by if there are a couple who might be the best to get.

I thought ENC 2210 might be grad students since I couldn’t find any info on the few that were named.

Thanks again, and if anyone has any math or chem professor recommendations, please speak up! Thank-you.

I had Keaffaber, but I guess he only teach the 2045-eng class now.

Horvath is director of 45/46 labs. Davidson for orgo lab. So they just supervise the grad students and organize the curriculum associated with the class.

Calc II - Rao and Moore have good reputations.

http://www.math.ufl.edu/~theral/
http://www.math.ufl.edu/~mrao/

Thanks again, ASMAJ, I looked them up and Rao and Moore have very good evals. I will keep them in mind, and maybe tomorrow they will have a better idea as to who will be teaching when.

yeah i am taking mitchell for CHM2045. I’m kind of scared…anybody know anything else about him?

also anybody know anything about Wendi Malone? She apparently teaches social psych…

I took Mitchell for 2045. He’s probably one of the better Chem professors. He is rude sometimes but it can be funny if he isn’t yelling at you.

I was a peer mentor when he taught 1025 and that’s one thing I hated about him. It seemed like he wanted to degrade students when they ask questions.

the way you ask the question, it seems to me that we can choose our professors??

If the instructor is listed on the course schedule, you just try to get the section taught by the professor you want.

I would say Mitchell is probably the best professor for 2045.

i loved mitchell.
