you can get the test prep books for each individual subject instead of getting a big one with all the subjects.

do they sell the individual books for the PSAT?

any other takers? can you guys post some links of good PSAT prep books with lots of info on critical reading?

Thoughts on the Barrons, McGrawHill, Kaplan, PR, and REA books?

Thanks!

mcgraw hill has a good one with lots of vocab. I studied that and didn’t miss any on sentence completions. if thats what ur lookin for…

Don’t prep for the PSAT. I learned this the hard way. It is much more effective to study for the SAT, which pretty much tests the same concepts.

Get the big blue book.

the SAT books are the same as PSAT. the only difference really between the tests the is length and the fact that PSAT doesnt have an essay. so just prep for SAT using the books and that will also help with your PSAT

i used barron’s and it was just fine.

but i also ordered the old psats and did each one. i found this extremely helpful and would suggest the same plan whether you want to bump your score a bit or are shooting for nmsf like i did.

also for cr, specifically vocab, i used a sort of nontraditional route. “rock the sat” is a cd which i played in my car for a few months before the psat. most of the words i knew, but didn’t use day to day. it actually helped, however corny the songs sound and is a nice alternative to memorizing lists and using flashcards. if you need vocab help, i’d use it. in fact i found it most helpful when composing my essays for sat and ap’s, but also for cr sections.

good luck!!
