I will be taking the PSAT this October. Any recommendations on prep books for the PSAT??

Excerpt from the guide:

So…the Blue Book.

The Blue Book. Also, previously administered PSAT’s are very helpful. They help you get used to the PSAT format, and can be purchased for $3.00 each on the College Board website.

^Agreed.

sweeet. thanks guys

What, exactly, is the Blue Book?

Thanks…

(We’re working on number-2 son now. One thing we learned with number-one son: Ace the PSAT, become an NMF, and get a free ride at your friendly participating university. In this economy, that’s hard to beat.)

The College Board SAT prep book is also called the “blue book” because it is blue in color. The College Board is the one that creates the PSAT and SAT tests and the book offers the real questions from old SAT’s. I also like Princeton Review’s prep book.

I can’t find them on CB website. Can someone guide me there please?

One caution about using the Blue Book to prep for the PSAT (I agree that it’s the best prep): you won’t have it when you prep for the SAT. If you think you’re going to want to do more intense prep then, you might want to save at least some of the Blue Book for the test that is going to matter more.

I read somewhere on CC that the College Board stopped selling the old PSATs in December.

You might try Amazon. I remember seeing some released PSATs for sale by an Amazon Marketplace seller.

Yup. There are some PSATs available on Amazon. Use the Advanced Search and key “PSAT” for the title and “College Board” for the author.

I don’t know if you want to pay that much, though. They are pricey.

Thank you. 20172721. (it’s a piece of work to type your name.)
I wonder why CB stopped selling them. does anybody know? they could make money

so if I have an old PSAT and the blue book for SAT, I don’t need to buy any book to study for PSAT, I assume? People who took PSAT, please tell me what you think. thanks!

Just use the blue book to study for both. I studied for the SAT, and since the PSAT is very similar (just shorter and without an essay) to the SAT, I did similarly well on both of them (231 PSAT and 2360 SAT). So don’t worry about running out of blue book material for the SAT. I just prepped for both and took both around the same time. Good luck.
