What is the best residence hall at Binghamton? I am impartial to dorms or suites, I just want some place to live where the people are friendly and social. I'm looking for a laid back residence hall, where people like to hang out and party (mostly on weekends), as well as lounge around.

They're all very different.
CIW I've heard is very social and tight knit. It has both corridors and suites.

Mountainview is another favorite, all suites though. And it's mostly upperclassmen/honors students and athletes. It's the newest one on campus right now.

Newing is known for greek life.

Hinman and Dickinson I don't know too much about.

i live in ciw and i absolutely love it! it's very social and everybody is very friendly. it's not as much a party dorm as newing, which houses mostly greek life, but it definitely comes in a very close second. if you're looking for a quiet night, ciw and newing are not for you.

mountainview is really nice. it's all suites and it's all airconditioned but it houses a lot of athletes and upperclassmen.

dickinson and hinman are both quiet. maybe hinman more than dickinson. dickinson is the only community within the brain but hinman is close to the academic buildings. also, dickinson is all doubles while hinman is all suites.
