I'll be taking AP US History next year and am wondering what the best review book (ex. Barron's) is for this course. I took AP World History last year and used Barron's and found this book very helpful. However, I've seen mixed reviews about what is the best "review" (and I quote because I'll be using this book during the year to prepare for tests, quizzes, etc. and to just learn the information better) book for AP US History. Thanks in advance, and any information helps!
As a side note: These are the AP classes I'm taking next year:
AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP English Language
AP Statistics
So if you have a good review book in mind for any of these classes, please let me know!

AMSCO. Aka the Blue Book.

If you actually want to learn the material, the Brief American Pageant.
If you just want to do well on the AP test, AMSCO.

Of course, if you read and study either of them in its entirety you’ll have a very good chance of scoring a 5 on the AP test.

Amsco is the best if you have A LOT of time and spread it out. Direct hits ap/sat II us history was really helpful too. It included a sample “9” essay for a frq and the question on this year’s actual apush test was really similar to the example.

AMSCO and Direct Hits. Read AMSCO in the weeks coming up to the exam and then a few days before start direct hits.

Princeton review isn’t bad either, I used that this year

And eng Lang comp is kinda a joke. It’s a few essays and some MC a bit tougher than the SATs. Use previous exams MC (07 was released) that’s very helpful and then maybe a PR but it’s not really necessary. Practice essays too, butnyou should be doing that bin class anyway. I’m horrible at english and I thought the exam was pretty easy.

Direct hits. It saved my life. Crash course also.

If you are too lazy to read the textbook but need to know a ton of info for your class Amsco could replace a textbook (at least for me) :-)

If you really want to learn, The American Paegant (textbook)
If you want a really in-depth review book, AMSCO.
If you want to learn quickly, with significant depth and special coverage of topics that CB loves to test, Direct Hits.

Also, Crash Course.

The new Direct Hits (US History in a Flash) and Crash Course. AMSCO is helpful but can be incredibly dragging, especially you’re pressed for time.

Well, I’m mainly going to be using this book in addition to the text book we’re using in class to study the material throughout the year, rather than using it to study for the AP exam at the end of the year. What I mean is this: Last year I would read a specific chapter in my AP World History text book, and then I’d read the short section in Barron’s and do the questions at the end of it. I want a book that I can use as a study guide throughout the year, not really one that is just good for studying for the AP exam.

US History in a Flash is the single greatest social studies AP review book I’ve ever seen.

^^Then go with AMSCO. Though DH is really ****ing awesome.

The American Paegeant was definetly the most useful book I used to study for APUSH, Princeton was…okay, but not really great it was a waste of money to buy it. I just read the American Paegeant, like two to three chapters a week, tooknotes, and then skimmed through it before the test.
