I have a strong 3.95 GPA with a 1970 sat. Looking for the best SUNY school for business due to tuition costs. I don't know if SUNY gives alot of scholarships, I've heard Buffalo gives the most. I know I can get accepted to almost any SUNY so why not go for the best. Really interested in a highly ranked business program, specifically Business Administration.

I’d go with SUNY Binghamton – it is the most selective SUNY university and even though the B-school may not be as well ranked, many firms know the kids at Binghmanton are smart and will recruit there. If $ is an issue and you get a better deal from Buffalo, of course that is an important factor.
CUNY might be ranked higher, but he student body is not as strong overall and it is basically a commuter school. May be worth throwing in an application to Fordham to see if you get merit aid (not sure your SATs will be strong enough, but your GPA is very high so who knows?).

Genesco is also a consideration. Binghamton and Genesco are considered the most elite of the SUNY’s, ie they have the students with the highest stats. Both schools are AACSB accredited. So you can’t go wrong with either.

Interesting. While Geneseo is generally considered the other top SUNY their business school is not nearly as well rated (#222 vs. 81 for Buffalo and 97 for Bing).

Don’t know anything about Buffalo’s business school, but Binghamton might not be a safety. The SOM had an average SAT of 1325 out of 1600. Also, while Geneseo and Binghamton are usually considered the best SUNY’s, Geneseo’s business school doesn’t really have many resources and is very small…If you are set on business or even for that matter economics I’d definitely choose Binghamton over Geneseo.

If you care about rankings, Bing is higher ranked. But it also has a graduate program. Schools with graduate programs usually rank higher.

I work with two PhDs from Bing business school who say the school cares a lot more about its graduate school than its undergraduate. Undergraduates are in large classes and office hours are with TAs. Neither would necessarily recommend Bing for undergrad. But they do say the recruiting is good.

For undergraduate, I think Geneseo should still be considered. Although I’m not sure your 1970 SAT will get you into either.
