Hi, I'm in need of some SAT book recommendations, preferably for someone who seeks a high (2200+) score. It would be great if you could give me some books designed for specific parts of the SAT (Vocab, Math, CR, Writing).

I have
- Blue Book - it's great for practice tests, but I want to build on my skills before using all of them.

In math, I am getting 700s consistently but would like to get around the 780-800 area
For CR, I struggle with sentence completions, so my score is 660
In the writing section, I am getting 760s, but extra practice would be nice.

For sentence completions, all you can really do is study a bunch of vocab Barrons is really good for vocab and grammar, but it’s a bit of an overkill. I copied down the vocab words that I didn’t know from the Blue Book and made a practice list out of them along with studying vocab from Barron’s. For math, the Princeton Review is good, but the best way is just to keep running through released collegeboard math sections.

Good Luck!

For math I would recommend the grueber’s as it helps a lot and has a lot of questions. There is also one that collected all the level 4 and 5 questions of the Math portions of the SAT.
Also, this isn’t a wholly serious recommendation, but also getting a nice calculator such as the TI-89 or the TI-nSpire is also good, as it helped me get an 800 on the SAT math 2C and also helps with future classes. But of course, knowing the material is more important having the best calculator, as you have to know when to do what.

I would get the 25th EDITION of BARRON’S SAT. I have a copy and it’s very useful. It contains a lot of words included in the SAT, and it also has its own scoring system, which can help you identify your weaknesses, and tackle them in the pages and sections it recommends you to look at.

memorize Direct Hits for vocabulary.

Barron’s writing workbook is very good. The thread “How to write a 12 essay in just 10 days” is also helpful.

Bumpbumpbump
Thanks, everyone. Anyone else?
