I really want to find a SAT book that can improve my Reading and Math score to 700.
I already have the Collegeboard(Blue Book), but I want a book that gives techniques and explanations for Reading and Math. Up your score boosted my writing score by 100 points. 2 separate books per subject is fine or one book that helps both would be better. I am taking the SAT in October my goal is 2100.

I swear by the Princeton Review books for the SATs. I finished the Collegeboard one and I found it way to easy compared to the real thing. I took the Princeton Review course and did a whole book and it upped my score from a 1500 to a 1990 in just 3 months. No matter what book you use, you have to time yourself for every section, review your mistakes, and set up a schedule. The books are just supplements to hard work.

Math: PWN the SAT
CR: Direct Hits and some of the CR guides here on CC.

Kaplan’s Premier is excellent. Princeton isn’t bad either.

For Vocab: The Essential 500
Overall: The SAT Prep Black Book

Never heard of a black book. Do you mean the blue book?

Barron’s for math is one of the best. It has a lot of the hardest problems to practice that keep people from getting over that 700 threshold.

I read here on CC a while ago that the College Board book was the real deal and to never get any other SAT prep book, but I don’t know. Haven’t started studying yet, so.

The Kaplan book is a bit more interactive, and that’s why I liked it.
