Hi guys!

Could you please recommend me the best SAT II Chemistry book? I've been using PR for a while, but I'm not finding it very helpful.

I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

Hi guys!

...bump...

Use barrons - got an 800

yeah i used barron's and got 800. however, i think you should also use mcgraw-hill's sat ii chemistry because it is really, really, easy to understand, the pictures are better, and it's written in a light, humorous style.

Use Barron's, I am about 99% sure I got an 800, I'll find out Novemeber 28th :)

yeah...barrons is good...it totally over prepares you for the test...so when you finally do take the test you kinda know everything...

Thanks guys.

I've been studying PR for the past little while, and I just ordered Barron's today. Do you think going through Barron's thoroughly is doable in the next three weeks, as I am taking the test December 2? Or will Barron's make me want to cry? The first time I took SAT II Chem, I scored 670..(if that makes any difference to what you guys have to say.)

I am having trouble with PR and some of the concepts (especially acids and bases), so I am hoping studying from Barron's will help me out. I am finding the PR tests to be extremely difficult. I think I understand most of the concepts and I have done the practice questions at the end of each chapter, but the practice test questions just seem SO convoluted.

Feedback appreciated!

Get Barrons and you'll do much better.

Is it possible to get a good score (700+) without taking AP chem? (using barrons, pr, chem class at school)

It depends on the rigor of your introductory chem class (assuming you had one). I was in the middle of taking AP chem, and with a decent prep book I made an okay score (680), but understudied. I think if you have some chem background and a good prep book you can make 700+.

I took honors chemistry and used kaplan and sparknotes and made a 740.

I took the AP Chemistry class and exam and received a 5. I took about a summer off from it and took 3 SAT Chem Diagnostic tests and received 620, 690, 690 respectively. After looking over Barron's and what not I started to get 800s on the Sparknotes and Barron's practice exams.

I took the SAT Chem test Nov. 4 and am confident I received an 800. Use Barrons.

Ok thanks!! That's good to hear.

(sorry op for hijacking ur thread!)

My favourite prep book is called "do well in your rigorous chem course(s) at school". ;)

Otherwise, apparently Barron's is good? :P
