I am planning on taking the SAT Math II sometime next spring. I took it at the beginning of this year and did horrible (600s). I want to improve drastically up to the high 700s, so what prep book should I get? Is there any other helpful advice you can provide me?

Thanks for reading and I truly appreciate any feedback

@crazyrussian no idea (I don’t even know/remember what edition I had). I wouldn’t think so, but if 11 is only like 2 bucks more than 10, i’d get 11 just in case

Barron’s is great. It covers pretty much all the topics and the practice tests are very realistic but just sliiiightly harder so you would be extra prepared. Also note that Kaplan is way easier than the real exam and if you’re really looking for a challenge, go for John Chung’s books. His books are notoriously more difficult and if you can score well on those tests… you can do the real one blindfolded ;)

My advice would be to do as many practice tests as you can, make sure to time yourself. Also, revisit old tests and look over your errors to eliminate them in the future. Be careful and don’t make any careless mistakes.

These books are in my amazon basket. Is there anything unnecessary, or anything I should add? Thanks.

I don’t really like the Barron’s Math Level 2 one, not because it’s very hard, but because it refuses to solve problems without the the use of a graphing calculator. Basically, you need one if you’re using this book. If you have a scientific one, then look elsewhere.

@crazyrussian seems a bit excessive, but that’s because I don’t have the stamina to do that much prep for these tests (I barely used the one study guide I had for the ACT until the week right before, it was Barrons 36–i scored extremely well). I’d honestly just take one prep for the SATii Math2 and maybe 2 for the ACT (one of them being the red book). Besides that, I’m pretty sure that list is an overkill
