Best SAT PREP BOOKS

In your opinion, what are the best SAT prep books?
What are the worst?

Best:
1. Grammatix for CR passages
2. Direct Hits Vocabulary + PR Hit Parade for vocabulary
3. PSATs from the College Board Store for practice
Worst
1. Kaplan for vocabulary. Their 500 word list is a bust.
2. TestMasters Short Vocabulary List - way overrated
Waiting
1. Waiting for the August release of Barron's 2400

where can i find grammatix

Rocket Review's book is supposed to be very good.

^ btw are there any practice tests in rocket review? and also what is the best book for practice tests (excluding princeton review, grubers, BB)

PR 11pt + cracking the sat
CB blue book
Barrons 2400
3,500 Barrons word list from how to prepare for the SAT barrons

PR asnd BB have the best Practice tests and nearest to what appears on the test. the Barron's tests are good, but they are wayyy harder than one shows up on the test so if you do them, you're over-prepared!

^ wats the difference between barrons 2400 and barron's how to prep?

barrons 2400 is more focused on tips and strategies for the harder questions
normal barrons has general tips plus practice tests

i heard Grammatix is a scam from some old posts and that it isn't too helpful though...

^ really...why would they say that. So far i've only heard good things about it...

Grammatix isn't a scam. Its expensive though, but some people find it worth it.

Grammatix is overrated. It is very helpful, but it claims it has "revolutionary" ideas, and questions will suddenly become very easy and obvious. The claims are heavily exagerrated.

Best for CR: Rocket Review and Grammatix, and try Barron's 2400 also

Best for Math: Grubers

I got Grammatix and Rocket Review (coming) and Barron for CR.
Yet what is the best for writing?
How do you think about Kaplan? (For math, their "advanced points" become " weakest, easiest point in Barron 2400)? About Cliff?

kaplan sucks. barron 2400 is ok, and i don't know about cliff

CR: Grammatix

Writing: Rocket Review

Math: Gruber's

Vocab: Direct Hits

which gruber's book are you guys talking about? Gruber's Complete SAT Guide or Gruber's SAT 2400?

Gruber's Complete SAT guide. It's really good. I'm actually working on their strategy section right now.
