Best school for Japanese Major?

<p>UCLA has a very good East Asian department, so I hear. Also, perhaps the University of Hawaii at Manoa would be good. Although, I’ve heard their language department is good, I haven’t seen very good reviews about the overall school itself. Abysmal. Oh! Also, Temple University, Japan Campus in Tokyo. It’s a branch of Temple University in Philadelphia. They should be offering the Japanese major this fall but they already have it as a minor and other majors and minors as well. This way, you can be in Japan while you learn Japanese and still have the safety of dealing with an American school if you have trouble or want to transfer. Getting in isn’t hard (I was accepted).</p>

<p>I am also really interested in East Asian Studies. I understand that Trinity University has a great program, especially in regard to China. Any thoughts about Trinity or Occidental College?</p>
