GPA: 3.4
Weighted: Not sure, my school calculates them weirdly but from what i hear some schools add a .3 soo im at a bout a 3.5 - 3.7 out of a 4.0

I'm also doing a one year unpaid internship at an accounting firm
Please helpp, im stressedd

How on earth do you have UPenn as a target? You have no chance of getting in.

Woops, that was supposed to be Penn State, sorry

UPenn and NYU are high reaches. Your GPA makes gaining admission into highly selective institutions very difficult.

I had a feeling that would be the case. EDITT: Not compelety sure what my GPA would be but im averaging B plusses to A- in all my honors classes. I think im at a 3.4 to 3.5

Maybe NYU, but still not UPenn. What’s your in-state public?

Rutgers is my in - state public but i think i can do better

Bump, need advice on where to early decision/ action too???

Last post for the night, but im worried. Let’s say i push the SATs to about a 2250 how much would it help me?

scores and gpa really hurt, but i think the internship and other ec’s are good. nonetheless, course schedule isn’t incredibly difficult, so you’d need to have great rec’s and essays

High Reach: UPenn
Reach: NYU
Low Reach, High Match: Boston College
Match: Northeastern
In: Rutgers, Penn State

Sorry i have no idea how these schools rank so i couldn’t tell you your chances: Babson, Bentley, Rider, TCNJ, Manhattan College, Seton Hall

your ecs are quite good, its just your scores that are going to pull you down. definitely improve your sats. if you push your scores up to 2250:

Low Reach, High Match: NYU, Boston College
Match: Boston College, Northeastern
In: Penn State

work hard on SAT

Should i use my early action/ decision, or just leave it and improve my SAT scores and GPA?

I am not sure that I agree about chances…it all depends on how the school ranks people and grades. At my daughter’s school, the valedictorian has a 3.6 average. Number 25 has a 3.4. The grading system, because it letters grades and E’s are worth 95, it is impossible to get above a 95 without taking APs or independent studies. I find it hard to believe that colleges would look at her 94.9 average and say it’s too low when the valedictorian’s average is 1.1 higher. Without knowing more, hard to say. If you have Naviance, you can see who tended to get in from what school from your school.

Based on the info now, I would say yes to Penn state, Northeastern, Rutgers, Rider, TCNJ, Manhattan College, Seton Hall…Boston possibly, probably no on NYU and U of Penn. No clue about Bentley and Babson.

Wharton in as close to impossible as it gets
NYU Stern is nearly impossible
Babson = high target
Bentley = low target/safety

your gpa is gonna kill you at stern/wharton schools and subpar sats scores wont do it either. also, lack of leadership in the ecs will hurt too. however, write good essays and you’ll have a decent-good shot at the others

You know, simple advice.
Apply ED to your top school choice, irrespective of whether you have a “chance” or not.
I believe it UPenn, in your case, so let that be it.
You never know what might click the Adcoms in your application.
Apart from NYU, Babson and NorthEastern; you’re looking absolutely fine (even without your ‘projected’ SAT)
Best of Luck =)

Oh, and chance me back? Not for my ED of course, cause I know I’m applying there irrespective of my chances! :smiley:
