Apologies to early_college for the tone of my last post. That was a little mean. Sometimes you can get punch drunk after a long, intense day of rehearsal and little things can set you off … Sooz is so much nicer than me, anyway … :)

I actually went to AMTC when I was 12, lol. But when you make connections it would be easier to get an agent in NYC or LA. I have a couple agents who I keep in contact with. My agency also has some deals with agency’s in LA or NYC, so if I wanted to go to NY or LA I would have an agent. I almost went back to AMTC, but there was no point. I was not going to go to LA or NY. Also, I was just giving the original poster advice from a teenager’s point of view. I also just wanted to tell people there are other ways of getting into acting.

Soov: Your still welcome to give me advice. I really can’t take classes in the summer to get ahead. If I did it would have to be in the CP level. It would be with people who failed and I think it could only be like a class or two. I also want to go to college for journalism, so I will go to college no matter what. I’m going to post a thread about NU’s acting program.

fish- not a problem, you weren’t that mean.

early_college…if your aim is modeling in print ads or acting in commercials, then perhaps connections you make at a talent convention/contest will work out for you. But if you want to go into legit acting in film, ideally you will have a greater chance if you train in acting…be it at a college or via another significant training opportunity.

I understand. I would like to do both. :)

Hagenbuch: Getting back on track… have you visited Cal Arts and UCLA? Are you going to be able to make the accepted students programs (Cal Arts this Saturday, UCLA in mid April.) If not, would you like my D to ask some specific questions for you to get the information you need? She was accepted to both of these programs. It seems the best way to assess the information is from the horse’s mouth.

I plan on attending the NYFA in LA FOR (ACTING ON FILM TRAINING, I would like to know if anyone have suggestions regarding this particular conservatory. I have trained theatrically for 2 years and now I want to branch out, but I have no film acting experience. Can someone please give me suggestions regarding this conservatory or other conservatories in the LA area?

You may want to look at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. [American Academy of Dramatic Arts | Los Angeles Campus](http://www.aada.org/campuses/la_campus.html)
