Best schools for Film Editing - Portfolio Critique -

Hi, my name's Max and I'm about to turn 19. I did quite a bit of editing work in high school and I landed some good internships right out of high school, so I began working.

My portfolio is here :

I do feel it's time however to complete my education and earn a B.A. I'm going to spend the next two years at a CC and I plan to transfer, but I'd like to know besides the obvious two choices, what schools have strong post production facilities? I'd like to be able to focus on that, and further develop my skills as an editor since I'm already certain of what I'd like to do. I'm going to continue freelance work and building my portfolio in the meantime.

My high school teacher who taught me everything I know is a USC grad who still has ties, but I was wondering if it's even worth my time to apply to USC and UCLA (I'm 20 minutes from both).

I had a 3.4 GPA in high school and scored 1700 on my SAT. I'm going to join a transfer program at my community college, to hopefully help with acceptance to a four year down the road.

I’d say for the connections, refining skills, and experience to go to a university.
But if you have the connections, I wouldn’t bother.
Especially since they’ve been hiking up the tuition at the UC campuses.
If you’re planning to stay in LA, (I’m presuming you’re from here) I know CalArts (Valencia) has an excellent film program and Art Center (Pasadena) has their Entertainment Design program, but I would inquire about the schools and check 'em out before applying. I know these schools are more institutes than they are universities, so they don’t get the college feel as much as USC/UCLA do.

Max, Are you just looking in LA? Have you also looked into Chapman in OC?
