I am a senior and I am stressing out so much about which schools are best for social work, my grades aren't the best so schools like Albany and Binghamton are out of the picture, I want to stay in new york, and also maybe a good transition school because I am pretty darn nervous (yet very excited) for starting college. Any help would be great thank you!

Hunter, maybe? Good luck! I believe social work requires a master’s eventually so look into requirements for that. You don’t necessarily need to be in a social work program right now.

Social workers do not require a Masters in MA but its always a good goal, jobs are a little scarce and they don’t pay well until you reach that ed level. YMMV in NY.

It’s all good. If you are in NY, any SUNY will do. You can also go to Delhi and transfer, if your grades are really not that great. Now, you will need okay grades to get into an MSW program. But, you really don’t need to stress out that you are not going to the “top tier” SUNY schools as an undergrad. To be a social worker, it’s the Master’s degree that counts. You can be a caseworker after your Bachelor’s, however. Just don’t spend too much on your degree…stick to state schools, do well in undergrad so if you want to go private for the MSW, you may get some merit money.
