Could any of you CCers out there tell me which colleges have the best Sport Management programs? That's the major I want to study once I go to college, so any help you guys could provide me with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There are a few CC threads that are related to sports management programs. I hope these help

I know my brother is minoring in it at U Florida, and I think the program is pretty strong there.

University of Michigan. 'Nuff said.

Loyola University Chicago's School of Business Administration offers a B.B.A. in Sport Management: http://www.luc.edu/undergrad/academics/sport_management.pdf

Towson University has both a sports management program and one in excercise science/Kinesthesiology.

Look at Syracuse University too. I know they have a program in Kinesthesiology.

Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions and to sybbie for the thread links.

You need to go to each universities' website, and look at their curriculum. Some schools offer it, but when you look at the curriculum, it's not what you want. Illinois for example, has a UG SM program, but in essence, it's about 4 classes related to sports and a bunch related to Leisure Studies.

The best schools include the following. University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Ohio University, University of South Carolina, University of Michigan, Indiana University, University of Miami, University of Connecticut, Bowling Green University, University of Texas-Austin, West Virginia University, Florida State University and University of Oregon.

I'd say that Massachusetts is probably the best program. NASSM has approved it's curriculum in all degree levels (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate), it is established in it's business school, it's very selective, and it's one of the longest tenured. I also like Ohio University's program, as one of the best.
