St. John’s, Western New England, Springfield and Sacred Heart ?

Does anyone know of any good graduate programs that have a Spring start date?

Advice needed here ;)

Looking for decent sport management programs or if possible, sport MBA program is preferred. First I’d like to apply for U of Oregon but I don’t think my GMAT score is competitive enough. Anyway, I’ve been working directly with sport industry. I work for a beer company who support Everton FC in England. Does this help in the admission decision?

Anyone’s got any advice please tell me

I went to Ithaca for my undergrad and it was AMAZING…courses/faculty/staff/environment.

I decided to go to Cortland for grad school…cheaper and had an international aspect. It has been nothing short of a headache. Disorganized and the department is falling apart.

Ithaca stood up to its name as being one of the best in the country. Cortland should not be anywhere near in that category.

hey allicat, or anyone for that matter, I just recently graduated binghamton university with a 2.6 overall gpa but a 3.7 upperclassmen gpa and 3.5 major gpa…brother broke his neck playing lacrosse affected grades long story…i was wondering what the average gpa/GMAT scores are for SUNY Cortland and Ithaca…those 2 are the only real choices I’m looking at and I want to see what I’m looking at having to get on my GMATs…i have been looking just for averages and such for Cortland’s SM program for months now and it seems as if there is barely any information on their admissions process…let me know thanks

to clarify…cortland’s sport management program is not the issue, the school in general faced problems by getting rid its graduate studies office. the sport management program itself is working to fix the issues that arose involving getting student visas. the actual classes were good. but still torn between ithaca and cortland.

hi, im not 100% sure on these numbers either. i hear a lot of schools want to see that you broke 1000 points on the GRE, which i took since it was cheaper than the GMAT. i had a 3.5 gpa at ithaca. im sure the schools will consider you since ur gpa in the major is strong. also they usually require personal statements in which u may be able to tell the story of your brother and the toll it took on your grades. if you kick ass on the GRE/GMAT it can also help offset your GPA. schools dont usually post this information online, you have to call the admissions offices to ask specific questions.

Does anybody know anything about the sports management programs at UMich, UMiami or NYU, details and specifics would be great.

Now I’m in the interview round of DeVos program at UCF. Gotta wait until early March to know the result. I hope for the best for myself as I really want to get in!!!

Anyone’s got any advice kindly tell me

Nice copy and paste galaboy. is this common in your country?

Anyone familiar with Indiana University’s (Bloomington) Master’s in Sport Management? It appears to be a well-rounded program but I didn’t see any mention of it here.

Hey everyone,

Please give me your advice or ideas regarding which school would you choose if you were accepted by both Oregon(MBA in sports management) and Umass Amherst(MS in sports management).

I’m an international student, so please excuse me if my English is something wrong.

Thanks.

I got in to UMass, Elon, James Madison, Drexel, St. John’s, and I’ll probably get in to Syracuse. I plan to check out Syracuse still, but at this point I think UMass is my best option, being that I live in state and therefore it’s considerably cheaper than any of these other schools. Here are a few things that I’ve picked up on from visiting/internet/previous posts on here. I’m not going to pretend to be an expert in this field being a senior in high school, but hopefully this can help a few people out…

The great thing about UMass is that it’s program is solely focused on Sports Management, as opposed to schools like James Madison and Elon which include Hotel and Recreation Management in their programs. UMass’ program is housed in the Isenberg School of Management which is highly regarded, I believe it is the oldest program in the country-- which means a big network for internships. I would encourage anyone to check out the UMass Sports Management website, it really helped me find out more: [Isenberg School of Management: Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management Home](http://www.isenberg.umass.edu/sportmgt/)

The downside of UMass is that it’s fairly limited in terms of sports for a Division I school, and there isn’t much around in terms of minor or major league sports teams. However, it is roughly equidistant between Hartford, New York and Boston.

If anyone has the link to the SI article or any other rankings of Sports Management programs I’d love to check them out. Good luck to everyone.

coffeemania- I would choose Oregon. Nike.

hi~coffeemania, i am an international student too. have you already received the ads from the oregon and umass?? i do not get news from them

did anyone get ads or offers from the admission in sport management program???

Chengshuo0427- I was interviewed by Oregon recently, and I’m going to be interviewed by Umass-Amherst next month. I think when you receive an invitation for interviews depends on when you have applied. Probably some people who have applied by a first round should already receive a final admission from them.

hi coffeemania
i got the message from oregon that they probably will interview me next week (depening on my schedule~). how long have you applied for umass??and do u mind tell me your e-mail address and you background~~???

I’ve heard good things about UFlorida, Indiana U Bloomington, Michigan, UMiami and UGeorgia.
