So I just spent about a month and a half reading the black book prep guide (not sure if it was worth it). And now I’m taking a practice test under timed conditions and realized that I don’t have enough time. And that’s what’s stressing me right now. And the math section is also killing me big time. I’m planning on taking the act on april. So that I could apply for this university that has the application due by may. And I’m also not OK with my dad spending 42 dollars for the act and not even doing good on it. A study routine would be greatly appreciated.
I tell this to everyone struggling with the ACT: practicing under the time restraints is the key to success. Go to your local bookstore and crack open any ACT prep book possible and go straight to the practice tests and do all of them (write your answers on a separate piece of paper) and check your answers at the end. It’s good to practice with books harder than the actual ACT (I think I used Barrons and the Princeton review) so that you’re more prepared for harder questions even under a time constraint. Don’t bother reading the actual book parts of the prep books unless you clearly are weak in one section of the ACT and need additional guidance on test taking skills for that section. I hope this helps and good luck!
