I've read from New York Times that the new SAT policy is that colleges aren't going to pick out your best subscores,,but instead choose the best one-sitting score. Is it true? anyone agree/deny?

I think you can hide entire sittings, not sections. I don’t think it’s just sending your superscore.

no… the question was… do colleges still superscore, not whether you can superscore send… but can you still send all your scores to colleges that don’t require all of them and expect them to superscore?

yes that is my question!

oh, sorry. i heard the same as you, but i don’t know for certain. i think it’s reasonable that they don’t superscore if you can hide a sitting.

the collegeboard has posted a pdf stating all colleges’ score use policies.

i don’t really understand the difference between the “version 1”'s and “version 2”'s.

anyway, i think for the ones who do superscore, you send them full days but they automatically use your best sections (they do it by computer i guess)

the thing that bothered me is that originally, collegeboard said there were 5 colleges who required all scores (cornell, stanford, penn, and 2 others) but if you look at the list, there are TONS, including NYU which I want to go to, but my first score wasnt so good (630CR 790M 670W).

Anyway, I was happy to see some really selective schools actually superscore, including northwestern, and even MIT! (not that i’d get in)

Also, something doesn’t make sense. For the ones that require all scores, if you login to your collegeboard profile and go to the send scores page, and go through the steps…when you get to the test scores, it says in bold font that the school requires you to send all scores. If you try to uncheck a score, it brings up a little box that asks you if you’re sure you want to do that.

Is it on the honors system? Can you still just report your best date, and the college would never find out? In the score choice FAQ is says this:

So…can you just uncheck it, and they’ll never know? Seems too good to be true

^Try it. I think they won’t let you make the change when you actually try to save changes.

I’m hoping colleges will superscore. I’m not hiding any scores, anyway. If anyone can give us some solid info on whether colleges will still superscore now that we have score choice, I’d appreciate it.

oh wow I completely forgot to post the link

Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

that lists all the colleges’ (that told collegeboard) sat score-use policies

basically, whether they demand all tests, or just the highest date, or if they superscore

in the pdf, can someone explain the practical differences between version 1 and 2? (you’ll see it before the list of colleges)

Hmm…version just says that X will ONLY be considered in the final admission process. So I think that means that Version 2 ONLY considers the highest scores while version 1 considers the highest scores but not 100%. I dunno, maybe.

DAMN! UC’s require all scores!
