What colleges have freshman getting suites (non communal bathrooms...sharing a bathroom with a couple of people is fine...just not the WHOLE HALL!) that are up north? Thanks!

some freshmen at Dartmouth

also, Williams. and several others, of which i forget right now.

Boston College has a very limited number of triples and quads for freshman that have their own bathrooms.

why are you strongly opposed to having a hall bathroom?

I'd go with communal bathrooms if I were you. First of all, they are cleaned daily (at least at my school...except on weekends). If you have a bathroom in your suite, you are responsible for cleaning it yourself. I hear it can get pretty gross because no one wants to clean it. Also for communal bathrooms getting a shower or a sink shouldn't be an issue. In college people use the bathrooms at odd times. I've never had to wait for either a sink or shower in a communal bathroom.

At NYU, all dorms have individual bathrooms.

Northwestern has dorms with suites for freshman, though you're certainly not guaranteed to get in one of those halls (though it's very likely if you engineer your preference list carefully).

Alright Thanks!

haverford in PA ahs sick freshman apartments. my friend just started there and she has a "dorm" with two doubles, its own bathroom, kitchen, and living room. the building is 4 stories with 4 of those.. she loves it

In my son's dorm at Brown, 4 kids share a bathroom. These semi private bathrooms are cleaned regularly by the college.
