I'm an undergraduate student studying psychology in Australia. I'm looking to attend a summer program in california, not all that fussed about the courses, i'm more interested in getting to experience American college life! I have been looking at UCLA, I like that they offer trips to Disneyland etc, and that the on campus housing is in Residences (seems like it would offer more of the college experience than living in apartments?). I would prefer somewhere a bit cheaper, but not sure if that's possible anyway... Would appreciate any advice :)

I don’t know of any program like that; it’s going to be expensive no matter what part of California you go to since the rents are extremely expensive especially in the UCLA area. Try the Cal States programs since they will be cheaper than the UC’s and if you stay in southern Cal, you can get to Disneyland relatively painlessly, but expect a LOT of people at the amusement parks in the summer.
