I am finishing an AS in Business Administration from Suny Ulster this fall. Im looking to transfer to either Oswego, Buffalo, or Albany. Most of my classes transfer easily to Oswego, but i cant find anything on the other to schools.
Can anyone give me any info on any of these schools, including how many jobs are available and what to do in the area.

I personally wouldn’t recommend Albany, only for the fact that there is a high crime rate around here. Otherwise, they have one of the best Business programs around. Crossgates Mall is a bus ride away, or five minutes by car. You can get to Target and Colonie Center in ten minutes. Albany is also known as a big party school.

A friend of mine goes to Oswego and she says she loves it there. Although the dorms may be loud at times, it doesn’t happen a lot. The teachers she’s had so far are agreeable, but not great. The food is average. There isn’t much to do in the area, though, so she visits some relatives who live in the area.

Buffalo is supposed to be another one of those schools with a great Business program. The campus is gorgeous. Can’t say much beyond that.

If you go to the SUNY site and click ‘Transfer Students’ under Prospective Students, you can go under Course Equivalencies and look up transferable courses for Albany and Buffalo. I know Albany definitely has one.

Oneonta has a high pass rate for the CPA exam. It also places qualified graduates in top accounting firms like Ernst and Young, Deloitte, etc.

As long as you attend a school with a state registered accounting program that allows graduates to sit for the CPA test you are ok. But pick a SUNY that also had AACSB accreditation.

SUNY Buffalo (not Buff State)

University at Buffalo and Binghamton University are about tied when it comes to their business/accounting programs. They are the top 2 business programs in the SUNY system. For the record, if your a potential graduate school student then SUNY Buffalo has the highest ranked MBA program in the SUNY system.

So out of your choices, University at Buffalo (aka SUNY Buffalo) is the best choice.

Good luck
