Best SUNY for business

Hello, I've been on college confidential for over a year, but this is my first thread ever. I'll be attending a CC this fall and i am planning on transferring as a sophmore next year. My goal is to transfer to Cornell or Syracuse, but i am also considering going to a SUNY mainly b/c of the tuition. The ones i have in mind are Albany, Binghamton, and Buffalo(UB). Which of the three do you guys reccomend or consider the best for a business major? I'm interest in accounting and finance. Thanks.

All good choices. I know that Albany will be breaking ground on a new business college soon.

I would say that Binghamton is the best, but accepts few transfers for that school. Albany and UB would be good choices and you would likely have an easier time transferring in. Visit the schools sometime this year, sit in on some classes, and pick the school that you feel is a good fit (and affordable).

If you have a specific focus in mind (accounting, for example), then you might want to keep that in mind as well. Not all business programs are structured the same way.

Chris

i second binghamton’s school of management. you should also consider cuny baruch

ISD- Yes they will be, in 2013, so when i’ll be a junior. That is one of the main reasons im interested in Ualbany b/c of that new school of business they are building. I know of the 3, Ualbany is ranked the lowest but they are showing strong commitment to the program

sk8rmom-Binghamton is deff the most prestigious SUNY IMO, especially in accounting. But i just really dont like the scenery lol it just seems like its in the middle of nowhere…i’m more of a city person and thats why i also include UB. Then again i haven’t visited Binghamton so i have no real proof, only what people say

sbuadmissions-Yeah if go to a SUNY, i would probably major in Accounting b/c i dont like to have business administration as a major…it just seems too broad and in suny schools finance is a concentration in buss admin, not a major by itself

ironicallysure- ahh yes i was looking a cuny baruch as well except when i found out it had no dorms for its students…so i no longer consider it

Well it is a CUNY, with mostly commuters. I know there are some collective CUNY dorms but they are competitive to get into but most live in the city anyway. NYU Stern is also good.

Bing is the best business SUNY. See if you can transfer, it’s hard but not necessarily impossible. Make sure your CC GPA is top-notch.

If you know you’re thinking accounting, you might want to look at Old Westbury. Not the biggest name out there, but their accounting program is strong.

Does anyone have any input for UB? I live between nyc and albany, albany being only an hour away. It would be really cool to go to buffalo cause i would really get away from my current atmosphere and start over far away. However, i deff. want to end up working in nyc, so by going to buffalo be a bad choice?

bump…please i need more input on these schools
