Best SUNY for premed?

Hello, I’m a senior in high school, and I’m looking at SUNY schools to peruse a career in medicine/health field. Could you guys tell me the best SUNY schools for premed, if you attend there also give me some details how the classes are, are the professors good…etc?
So far I’m really leaning towards SUNY Buffalo (University at Buffalo)
However, I also heard SUNY Geneseo is good as well.

I’m not sure about Binghamton and Stony Brook because my sat scores are on the lower end, procrastinated and never studied for the SAT. :frowning: However, I have around a 3.5 GPA, good EC (including research internship on Alzheimer’s, going to a different 3rd world country to help build a pharamacy and take care of children in an orphanage (2x)), I also took 4 AP classes, College PreCalc, and 5 Honors classes.

For my career, I’m deciding on either a MD/DO or a PA. (leaning towards the MD/DO), so what SUNY’s have the best premed program?

A good premed program means generally collaborative peers, lots of academic support with good advising, classes that aren’t purposely weedout.
Suny Geneseo is a good choice, as well as Buffalo. Always apply to Honors programs. Since honors students get more support. Add a couple SUNYs where your odds of honors program are strong.
Run the NPC on some of the private colleges such as St Lawrence or Hobart&William Smith to see whether they’d be affordable for your family.

What are you going to do in college to get your grades up ?
You will need higher grades and high MCAT to get into med school.
if you didn’t do that in HS, what will you do differently in college ?

Stony Brook is the school for medical technology in the SUNY system.
But I am not sure going there as an undergrad gives you any advantage over the other choices you consider.
Study, get the grades, that is what matters, more than which school you attend.

PS One of my kids got into Geneseo and visited, loved it but did not attend.
Nice small campus, though I can see it would be tough for some people to spend 4 years there.
Very quiet small town, very isolating, but seemed a good school with good students.
That said, it can be just as competitive to get in as Bing/SB.
