What's the best sushi restaurant in Ithaca or Ctown?

Miyakes in ctown is popular for sake bombing

Hijacking the thread, sorry, but it’s related. Is there any good Mexican food really close by? I love mexican and live close to a Chipotle, which if you haven’t been to, you should go to because it’s pretty cheap and is basically the king of all mexican restaurants, so are there any good, relatively quick and cheap places where you can get mexican food near by?

This Californian grimaces when he hears Chipotle and Mexican mentioned in the same sentence. You’re not going to find any authentic Mexican food here but TBP is a passable Chipotle clone and there’s a new Mexican place by Plum Tree where the old tea place used to be which I’ve heard is okay.

Miyake is cheaper than Plum Tree and I think they are about the same quality.

No, all Mexican food in Ithaca sucks.

Garcias is pretty good, which is past Wegman’s. I’ve been there a few times and I always enjoyed it, along with everyone else I know who has been there. However, it’s on the outskirts of Ithaca.

Plum Tree is better for sushi and Miyake is better for other Japanese cuisine. Miyake, however, is pricier.

And people really need to stop saying “sushi restaurant” or any variation thereof. These are restaurants of Japanese cuisine that offer a lot more than just sushi.

I was really frustrated for 4 years of college because I couldn’t eat at Chipotle. My Freshmen year at Cornell, I gave Ithaca a big middle finger for not having a Chipotle restaurant. However, there are substitutes for decent burritos. (not even close to as good as Chipotle) At Trillium and Statler, they have burritos, which is decently good considering that it’s school food. TBP is decent, also. Don’t forget - Cornell dining is excellent and there are many other kinds of food you will likely enjoy.

Chipotle is like Sushi of Mexican food - hybrid/American version of international ethnic food that is immensely popular.

Well, Sushi is the most popular menu at Japanese cuisines, tho. But, I can see your side of argument.
