Right now, I'm not too sure of where I want to go. I know Rice has a very strong pre-med program, but I won't be applying there simply because I don't really think I'll be about to maintain a good GPA there.
My current choices are
UTAustin
UTDallas
Texas A&M
SMU
Baylor University
TCU
I think I'll be accepted to all these schools (not sure about Austin though). I know medical schools don't really care what college you go to, but I hope the choice I make will give me an education that'll prepare me well for the MCAT.

Please mention other schools if you think that something should be added to my current list.
Thanks so much!

Baylor University has an incredible reputation. Also, the university recently upgraded all their science facilities and it is world-class. The board of regents has made the medical field a priority for the university due to the amount of growth expected. Maybe, they have some information on their website. You should go on a visit to your top choices. Good luck

Don't shy away from a school just because it's a strong place. If you're academically qualified for a school, then you owe it to yourself to become the most prepared person you can be.

Have you seen these schools? Which is the best place for you to grow up? Mature? Assume the responsibilities that you're asking for?

To grow into the young man who will someday be sitting across a table from a committee, seeking to explain why you're ready to shoulder the burden of becoming the manager of the most important crisis of another person's life?

Is that Rice? Is that Austin? Is that Baylor? Might it be somewhere outside of Texas? Only you can tell us the answer to that question, but I will say this: being afraid to tackle the best education that you can possibly find is not the right move. Don't seek out prestige, but don't seek out a cakewalk either. Go where you can grow the most.
