<p>I really have little idea who to choose. Thinking of Abraham, Haught, Mayer, and Valez. Any suggestions? I'm a pretty logical guy who's interested in great logical experience.</p>
<p>I had Steenhuisen (not sure if that's the right spelling). It was a great class (I even met my boyfriend in it), but she is a super feminist, which can be annoying if you don't agree with her. I haven't heard of any of the professors you are thinking of...check ratemyprofessors</p>
<p>DON'T take Burnett. Try to get Sanders, she's the best. :)</p>
<p>Sanders is good, or so I've heard. Ruf is boring but REALLY easy grader!</p>
<p>I had Ruf, I didn't think he was boring, and I didn't think he was an easy grader. He expects really good work on the take home essays and he doesn't give out many A's. The one thing about his class though, is that I don't know when I'm ever going to need what I learned.</p>
<p>Isn't that the case with all POG profs? I must have been lucky then, I'm no authority on POG profs, just making sure everybody knows that. I hate the theo req, HATE!</p>
<p>Burnett is the truth. You might not learn much, and he might be the most idiocyncratic man in the world, but you will do absolutely no work and get a minimum B+ if you have half a brain.</p>
<p>What exactly is Problem of God about? I feel as if it depends on the professor.</p>
<p>With Burnett it was a summary of all the major world religions and their origins, with the most attention paid to Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. After that, the rest of the course focusses on different arguments and approaches to religion from a fairly objective viewpoint. If you took the course with a Jesuit professor you would probably learn 5X more but do 10X more work, so if theology's something you're really interested in then you might want to consider a more serious professor than Burnett.</p>
<p>It definitely depends on the professor. The name is almost irrelevant to the class. Every class is so different. Usually it's a pretty interesting class even if the information is kind of useless though.</p>
<p>I had Ruf, and really liked him. He's a guy that makes you think and there are few readings.</p>
