Hey y'all! I'm a HS Senior living near Atlanta, GA and I JUST came back from my first trip to Boston. Beautiful city! I was there to attend an open house at Boston U, where I've been accepted, but while I was there, I absolutely could not pass up the opportunity to visit Harvard and MIT... For all you MIT students, y'all are the lucky ones! I spent a good three days in Boston, and the BEST PLACE I went was to your campus! That big stone building with MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY engraved in the middle with all these other famous scientists' names engraved on the outside, and especially the beautiful Charles River and Boston skyline in the background was breathtakingly beautiful!

Yes, there's an overall vibe at MIT simple cannot be explained. I personally didn't find the campus to be beautiful, but after several times of visiting and such, I simply find MIT to be in absolute best setting possible, in terms of location and such.

green- the place you're talking about is called Killian Court, and it's one of my favorite places on campus. I like walking through it because it makes me feel smart. Like "hey look, I go to MIT. That's awesome."

Good to know that SOMEONE out there likes our campus. =)

do any of you know how many on-campus churches does MIT have?

I started by going to web.mit.edu and entered "churches" in the search bar on the main page. There were links to the following:

MIT UCF (United Christian Fellowship) which says to ask them which churches they attend:
http://web.mit.edu/ucf/www/index.html
ACF (Asian Christian Fellowship) list of churches they attend:
http://web.mit.edu/mitacf/www-archive/2001-02/churchlist.html
Orthodox Christian churches around MIT:
http://web.mit.edu/ocf/www/churches.html
... and a number of other similar links.

I know of no churches on-campus at MIT, other than the MIT Chapel which is open for private meditation and is available by request for religious services held by approved campus religious groups.

If you are looking for some specific denomination, I suggest you go to the main MIT page and search for that denomination. You may find something specific within the mit.edu webpages. In fact, it's a good idea to start by performing this sort of search whenever you have a question about things like this around campus. You can often find the information yourself, and if you aren't finding anything helpful, ask here and see if anyone has more information. (It's good to get into the habit of doing some research on your own. ;))
