Best time for an update letter?

<p>Does anyone know when the optimum time is for an update letter? I'm guessing it would involve sending it late enough to include the latest achievements and early enough to reach the admissions committee, but does anyone have information as to when that would be? (accounting for delays in mail/email processing, etc.) Also, is that optimum time different for RA applicants and EA deferees?</p>

<p>Oh, and as an informal poll, how many CC'ers are planning on sending one?</p>

<p>I think the intent of the letter is just to let Harvard know what you've been up to with your extracurricular activities. It's a way to inform Harvard about senior year awards that fall after the application deadline (and perhaps at other schools, a way to demonstrate interest).</p>
