BEST TIME TO DROP A CLASS

I was just curious when the optimal time to drop a class was. I am a parent, and I realize that it is a slippery slope. You do not want to drop a class too early because you want to give the class a chance and see how you do on a few tests, even though you may not have done well on the first test. On the other hand, you cannot wait to a few weeks before the class ends since it may be too late and the grade will most likely stay on the transcipt. I am thinking that information may be in the syllabus somewhere but I was just looking for thoughts.

Some of these colleges with business schools, etc have minimum gpa's to stay in the program. My feeling is why have panic attacks and undue stress if you have a professor that cannot speak english, or is just horrendous?? It will most certainly hurt the gpa. You are better off just taking the class in the summer at a local college (assuming the credits transfer, which most will), and then just keeping up the gpa. It is not the best way to spend a summer, but you do what you got to do.

I realize that only a certain number of credits are transferable, however, there is no shame in dropping a class if you really feel that it is the professor and the the material.

I am assuming if you take a class at another college and the credits transfer, that the grade you receive goes on the official college transcript.

Thanks in advance.
