I know this is a highly debated topic, but I would like to get some personal thoughts from people who have gone through this recently. Especially for engineering majors since I'm currently pursing a BS in Mechanical Engineering and would like to pursue a Masters in something Engineering and/or Management related.

So, when is the best time to go to Grad School: Right after completing undergrad or after getting a couple of years of experience in the workforce?

I know each side has it's Pros and Cons and I've heard mixed reviews. For me, I'd say money is one of the main factors since I don't want to overpay for a Masters degree. I know going straight to grad school after undergrad you can qualify for fellowships and grants while some companies will pay for employees tuition to go to grad school. Any advice?

Also, I plan on going to a top grad school like Stanford or UC Berkeley (I live in Northern California) so I'm wondering if that will matter.
