Parking/traffic, crowds, humidity, loading boxes.. all together sounds miserable. I am thinking about moving in early to get settled in easier, but I have a lot of heavy things such as microwave, fridge, etc. and I'm afraid the Housing volunteers won't be around to help me out. So what is the best time to move in to avoid all of the chaos? Should I move in early? Or is it not even that bad..?

Hmm…I though we moved in at the assigned time/date based on name and dorm.

If you’re a freshman, I would move in on your assigned day/time… That way they’re prepared for you. I think if you tried to move in on the 18th they’re not going to stop you, but I would definitely try and stick with your assigned date/time. It will be more fun that way anyway if you’re moving in on a “freshman” day.
