Best time to take the SAT and SATIIs?

<p>I am currently a junior in high school, and am planning to take the SAT and three SATIIs this up and coming summer (by summer I mean May and June). The exact dates of the two test days I am looking at are May 4, 2013 and June 1, 2013.</p>

<p>I understand that the most SATIIs one can take in one sitting is three, and I plan on taking the Biology Subject Test, the Chemistry Subject Test, and the Mathematics Level 2 Subject Test. I also understand that one cannot take the SAT and SAT Subject Tests on the same day.</p>

<p>So here's my dilemma. May 4, 2013 is the Saturday right before the week of AP testing begins. I would rather spend that weekend studying for my AP tests, which include AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP English Literature. However, it seems that I will have to take the SAT or SATIIs.</p>

<p>Would it be better to take the SATIIs that weekend since I would have been studying for them for a while, and they will also serve as preparation for the AP tests? If I do this, I would take the SAT on June 1, 2013. Or, should I take the SAT first then the SATIIs? What would be the benefits and the cons of taking the tests on certain days? What do you guys recommend?</p>

<p>Since you have the SAT Biology/Chemistry as well as AP Chemistry/Biology, I would suggest taking the subject tests in May and the SAT in June. You won’t need intensive study for your subject tests; if you can do well in AP Chem/Bio you should do well on the subject tests. You can also take the SAT in April if you wish.</p>

<p>Why don’t you take the SAT early (say, January) and then take the Subject Tests in June? That would be ideal, as it would help you keep stress levels low and have adequate time to prepare for both.</p>

<p>Why wait till May? Take the SAT in January or March. I’ve seen plenty of cases on this site of people who don’t have enough time to retake the SAT and/or SAT II and are retaking them in November and december of the SENIOR year. The latest you should have to take it is October.</p>
