I read somewhere that the best time to take the SAT is in April, because that's when all of the first time takers take it. Supposedly, the curve is better. Is there any truth to that?

no there is no truth to it. To answer your question, the "best" time to take the test is when you are best prepared. For some, that could be fall Jr year....others it could be senior year, or inbetween.

i agree. the idea of having a "better curve" at certain times of the year is ridiculous. at best the curve may be 10 points higher on each section. so... i agree that you should only take the test when you feel most comfortable. i made the mistake of taking the test at the beginning of my junior year and got a 1980. i retook the test in december of my senoir year and my score jumped to a 2320.

so as long as you are well prepared you should do fine.

just my two cents.

June is the best time, accorting to thesatguy.

"i retook the test in december of my senoir year and my score jumped to a 2320."

How do you retake it senior year in december?

Wow, congrats SmartGuy. That's a giant jump!

what do you mean how??
