I was born and have lived in Idaho my entire life. Would this help my chances of admission at top tier colleges in the east and in California? Also, I'm just curious: what do you guys think about Idaho? (Idaho, not Iowa).

Not necessarily. Most public schools won’t care because they’d rather have instate applicants and if you are out of state you generally need much higher stats because alot more people are competing for fewer spots. Furthermore, you will get little to no aid at these public schools because they reserve most of it for in state students. As for top East Coast Schools such as the Ivies, those are always a high reach, regardless. Your state will not really play a big part in getting you into these schools unless you come from a rural area or are the first in your family to attend university.
