My attempts to find information on which UC has the best reputation for communication majors have been unsuccessful. I've been able to find rankings for graduate programs, but at this point I'm only interested in undergraduate programs. I'm hoping someone has information or a link that ranks UCs for this major.

If no link or a cited source, I'm also interested in hearing how other students would rank communications programs.

I'm having a total writer's block (at work, loud music, lack of stimulation) so I hope all that made sense. Thanks in advance! :-)

I'm a comm major at ucsb and here it is very research oriented. You can choose your classes to have a mass comm emphasis, but it basically is interpersonal research. ucsd is the polar oposite, and is very interpretivist. If you are trying to go the mass comm route (as I am) than UCLA is number one, followed by Berkeley, and then probably everyone else. SB is good though, I would rank it third, simply becuase we have a top comm grad program and share the department. All of this is just info i've gathered from friends in programs at other schools, but I hope it helps!

uclahopeful - thanks for your info! it was very helpful. i doubt i'll get into ucla or berkeley (where i applied as a rhetoric major because that is my true love). i'm in at ucsb and i'm really excited about it.

mine is horrible! it is really embarrassing. it is around 2.9-3.0. my start at ccc was horrible. my last 30 units have averaged at a 3.5 - still not great, but definitely an improvement. :-

fyi byebyesfstate there are no rhetoric classes associated with the comm major at ucsb so if that is "your one true love" i would steer clear....

and my gpa is 3.4 which is ****ty but im hopeful that coming from a uc it will somehow be weighted higher than all these 4.0 cc kids.

UCLA avg comm gpa is 3.89! ***?? ahhh i have no chance...
