What are the best Residence Halls in order? Or are they so bad that I should try to get into another housing thing, if so which?

No the residence halls are great - which is best is definitely a matter of preference. My own would be: Sproul, Dykstra, Rieber, Hedrick
I lived in Sproul my first year - loved it, its a great place to live
I live in Dykstra this year - also good
Rieber and Hedrick are too far up the hill for my own laziness
I'm going back to Sproul next year as a SHA :)

can't go wrong with res halls, they are what u get from ur college experience.

I agree with Icarus in the rankings.

I also suggest that only sophomores and juniors should be allowed into suites. Freshman have no place in them. :p

does anybody know how i can get Housing @ UCLA over summmer, i need to rent a room cause im doing some research over summer at a lab

you can only get housing over the summer if you're taking summer session classes.

Although I wouldn't mind where I end up, is there any way of improving the chances of being assigned the res hall of our preference?

None whatsoever.

Well, not true. After you get to UCLA, get a job working for On-Campus Housing (Access or front desk) and you can choose your hall and room for the second year.

Oh, and you get to live on-campus for $8 a day during summer!

Sweet deal!

so how do i geta room by UCLA?

What do you mean? An apartment?

i need somewhere to stay over summer cause im gonna be doing research everyday @ UCLA

The research program you're involved in hasn't offered any help with housing?

I suggest you start looking for people subletting ASAP, if it doesn't.

*

well, you can choose your hall and room your second year anyway :)
But the $6 a day thing is true and totally awesome - I was working for ORL last summer and I got that deal. Housing and 3 meals a day for $6 - it was nice.

how od you sign up for ON campus housing.. is there the person who like "controls" the rest of the dorm

You have to be a student and be offered housing.

Hey Icarus, where in sproul are you going to be a SHA?

I like Courtside

No way! Delta for life! I lived in Delta my third year. It was WAY better than the leaning tower of Courtside! :p
