I see the University of Washington in most of the USnews rankings of business fields (finance, international business, marketing, mangement, accounting) but its not ranked at all by BusinessWeek. Anyone know why?

Texas is #2 for Accounting and they've got a cool PPA program, stay an extra year and you get a masters degree, it's a well recruited program.

Do any of you wonder if others have, or would/have any of you put the ranking of your school on your resume? That would be soooo cheesy in my opinion.

"Name, Address, blah blah blah

EDUCATION
University of Southern California (tied for #10 in finance with three other schools by USNEWS)

BS in Finance
3.1 GPA graduated 2005"

CHEESE!!! Employers would probably laugh you out of an interview.

I would think the employers would know how good ur school was without writing down its ranking, I wouldnt put it on my resume.

Are u serious?! U just need to stay an extra year to get a masters?

LOL, you know I was kidding... I hope! My point was basically that employers may not pay as much attention to the exact ranking as academics do... for 1) they don't have time, and 2) they really don't care THAT much about the school's ranking (if the school is their alma mater, then they will notice, otherwise, as long as it's accredited, it's usually sixes), but more about the character of the candidate, if they completed the program well, and what sort of attributes the candidate can bring to help their company's bottom line.
