I have decided to reassess my top choices for universities.

Which universities have a very strong robotics program, and also have strong computer science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering programs.

Obvious ones are Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Caltech, and Stanford I presume. But what about others? I'd prefer to ask here rather than research on the internet, because (from what I've seen from months of lurking) you guys aren't some psuedojournalists who get paid every time they write an article for a website, but rather students, alumni, parents, and admissions consultants of schools you are interested in.

Brown’s CS department is one of its strongest, and while there’s no “track” in robotics (because CS doesn’t do tracks), there’s still a strong presence of robotics, coupled with AI. And our strong neuroscience program has us linking things such as computer vision and robotics. Our program, moreover, is geared towards undergrads: I’ll be able to do a research class in my second semester (without any CS exposure but CS17), and I know freshmen in other sciences who worked in labs over winter break.

Our engineering departments also don’t get the credit they deserve: we have a very strong engineering presence on campus, and though the department isn’t as huge as Cornell’s, we develop a different kind of engineer. A very large percentage of our engineering students go on to do other things with their education, rather than go right into industry as, say, a mechanical engineer. And the open curriculum lets you merge classes and knowledge. Our departments often work closely with each other (eg. our COE concentration, which merges engineering, sociology and economics, or our CS-Applied Math concentration), and our encouragement of independent concentrations allow you to be a pioneer of new directions of thought.

Enter ><a href=“Universities and Research in Robotics on EXPO21XX”>http://www.expo21xx.com/universities-robotics> to view, among others, projects from MIT, CMU, Oxford, ANU, Cambridge, and many German, Canadian and Asian Universities. Hope this helps.

Just wanted to remind you about the link to my compilation of universities offering robotics. Go to < [EXPO21XX - AUTOMATION 21XX - HALL 05 : Universities and Research](Universities and Research in Robotics on EXPO21XX) < to see projects being undertaken at MIT, CMU, Oxford, ANU, Cambridge, and many German, Canadian and Asian Universities.

Regards,
