Best University for Business(accounting or Human resources) and Second Education (Teaching)

I have completed 2 years and would like to transfer. Here are my options

Temple
West Chester
Drexel
Villanova

Based on good education and getting jobs, which school should I pick? I am interested to pass the CPA exam and to earn a teaching degree.

Villanova is great for Finance don’t know about Accounting or HR

What is your home state?

How much will your family spend?

If you need aid, have you run the NPCs? If so, are your parents ok with the results?

Pennsylvania is my home state. What is NPC? Lacoste do you have any recommendations?

for accounting look at Penn state

Villanova IS good for accounting. Clearly the top school on your list. If you want to stay in PA you may want to look at Lehigh and Temple as well.

Villanova is also a great choice for HR. I’ve looked into their grad programs for HR and they seem to have a solid department, curriculum (for undergrad as well), and reputation in the industry.

NPC is Net Price Calculator - lets you know what you can expect to pay to attend each school. Villanova is a pricey option if you do not end up with scholarships or aid.

It sounds like you’re in the area - are you going to be commuting?

Villanova is no doubt the best for business, followed by Drexel. Villanova has a very strong school of Ed. The problem is that VU is also the most expensive and they’re unlikely to give you anything more than a commuter scholarship for merit and FA is not great at VU if your parents own their home. Also, Villanova doesn’t have much of a commuter community, if that matters to you.

I noticed you’ve left off St. Joe’s. Are you there now? St. Joe’s has certainly got a better reputation for business than Temple or West Chester. Also, I don’t know how much you’d be able to take advantage of co-ops as a transfer at Drexel and that’s really Drexel’s only advantage over St. Joe’s in terms of undergrad business. Finally, keep in mind that Haub has a much stronger alumni network in Philadelphia than Drexel. On the down side, SJU doesn’t have a huge commuter presence anymore either (although I understand it’s growing).

Drexel and Temple have tons of commuters.

If you were just doing Ed, I would recommend West Chester as it would have the best prospects of getting into a good nearby school district. However, it’s probably at the bottom of your list for business. Still, if the money is best there, WCU just might be the way to go. Make sure you factor in your commute (if there will be one). Unless you live out there, the commute to WCU is a bear. And if you do live out there, the commute to any of these other schools may not be pretty either. Now is a good time to try out the commutes to the different schools. Trying it out in the summer will be no reflection of what your actual commute in the Fall during rush hour would be…

Temple Ambler campus may have most of what you need - although I believe the only Ed degree you can complete fully at the Ambler campus is elementary. Ambler may appeal to you in terms of commute or atmosphere.

One last thought - are you planning on staying in the Philadelphia area? If so, I don’t think VU is worth the extra money over SJU, Drexel, or even Temple. VU might be worth the extra money if you’re looking to get out of the area immediately after graduation. Of course, talking about money before you know what your numbers at the different colleges will actually be is premature.
